Nahhh, just doing my own calling around for engines and yours was still listed. that is one smoking deal. If you need any help give me a call (assuming you are in the area), cuz I'd like to do the same when I get mine!

Yeah, I just posted that because a couple of posts mentioned that it came from an '06 but the vin apparently is for an '07. Sorry for any confusion!

The LQ9 uses the proven LS architecture to provide robust performance in the Cadillac Escalade AWD. It features a sturdy iron block, but like the aluminum-block versions, the LQ9 has a deep-skirt, six-bolt-main block, with structural
oil pan and other carefully engineered features to help make it a smooth running and strong engine. A special camshaft and tall intake manifold each are tuned to produce loads of useable torque across the entire rpm range.

Can anyone shed some light on what the aluminum version is?

search for LS1, LS2, LS6, and LS7 engines

the aluminum blocks were put in the f-body's and vette's and special edition vehicles like later SSRs and TBSSs and CTS-Vs
