5 miles per gallon on stock 4.8 with rearend noise??? PLEASE HELP!!

I found the problem!!!
I jacked up my truck and tried to turn the back tires.
The left side was easy, but I could hardly turn the right side.
So I took the tire off and the inside of the rotor is ate up BAD! Then I looked at the brake pad, and holy crap, the pad was totally gone, and so was most of the METAL! It was all burnt up.
I don't know what caused this. Could it be the brake line? Is the caliper bad?
Something got stuck because all of the other pads and rotors are fine, and the other pads are still 75%. I ordered 1 rotor, and a line.
I think the caliper is fine because I got a clamp and made the piston go in out out, it moved fine.
Do y'all think it was the brake line. If I had the money I would put a whole entire new brake system, with big rotors, and the whole nine yards but I ain't got the cash.
What do ya'll think?

You need to replace the caliper. You may have been able to compress it, but that doesn't mean there is nothing wrong with it.
If I found this I would have replaced both rear calipers (Note: you never replace just one on the same axle), new rear pads, replaced that one particular rotor (This is minimum), and finally bleed down all 4 calipers to the degree that all of the old brake fluid has been flushed from the brake system with new quality brake fluid.
I personally would go a few steps further.
I would have taken the other three good rotors to be mic'ed with a micrometer to make sure the rotor thicknesses were within specs to be resurfaced.
Then "if" they could be resurfaced I would buy all new pads to go on all 4 corners.
"If" they could not be resurfaced I would have bought 4 Powerslot rotors and a 2 sets of Hawk Performance brake pads. Not really too expensive.
Nick? Why did you replace that one brake hose? Unless it was damaged I would have left it alone.
This is also an item that you replace in pairs if you decide or need to replace them.
I would take this info in consideration if I were you.

Glad you found out the problem I would definately replace both calipers bleed the entire brake system and replace the caliper and new pads of course.

I returned the new brake line & kept the old one, & bought a new caliper, put the new rotor on, and blead the brakes. Also replaced both back pads.
I going to get another caliper for the left side on Monday, because when I was finished I tried to turn each wheel and the right one was so easy and the left side was a little harder so I'm going to replace that caliper on Monday.
When I was done I took it for a test ride, and no sounds!
It drove perfect.

I'm a little late here, but chances are the caliper was fine. This was a problem on the earlier trucks, like my 2000. When my right-rear inner was down to 1% (luckily I caught it) the other 3 were still 50% plus. This was at 110k. It turns out, this particular pad is very exposed to dust and debris. (The fuel tank protects the left side.) GM has since added a shield to protect that pad. The shield is available for like 80 bucks but I'm sure you can get creative and make one yourself.

The stock pads almost always last over 100k, sometimes 150k before this happens, mine was around 110k. I'm still on the stockers up front. I had never heard of the problem either until it happened to me and I got on here and found it was pretty common. I didn't worry about fabbing a shield because I don't mind replacing them every 100k
but it's pretty sick to think they could have gone 200k easy with 79# 20s.
