I dont know if i could handle a cam and converter like that on the street, but it gives me a few ideas.

The iron 5.7 is looking a little cheaper right not, but the 6.0 would seem to be a more straight forward swap, assuming i dont get something like Devons 6L.

Silvermodo- thats a beautiful picture, every time I think i make up my mind i see a nice build such as yours and bam, Im back to thinking.

Wheatley- whats the turnaround on the tune looking like right now, Im gonna take a road trip after school is over, I dont know how happy Cali will be with my untuned truck running around the streets with the new headers

Only before 05 did he 9's have a beefier set of rods. In 05 they all switched to the ls2 internals, all are stronger then pre 05s

Either motor is good but from what I have come across the ls1's still cost more to buy then the 6.0

yes sir, i was thinng about doing it to my 4.8 and its the same block/bore as the 5.3, but main difference is I would need to get a new crank to get to 5.7

I would go with the cheapest and the easiest for you. Believe me I know what its like having a budget and it sucks! haha

If I would do it all over, I would get a 4" crank and run a 400 just to be different since EVERYONE does the 6.0. However, EVERYONE does it cuz it works. Not saying the 5.7 doesnt, but its less work in essence. To be honest with you, if you want to do the iron block I would do a 383, more torque, different, and should get the big pig moving. Btw, if you want to not have your truck down I still have my complete motor that I'll get to you cheap
Good luck with deciding, thats the hardest part haha

while we are at it, lets offset grind the crank for more stroke. A long time ago, I read about someone doing that with a ls1. I think the stroke with increased from 3.62 to 3.8". If offset grinding the crank is cheap to do, it be a cool way for more cubes
