Default 5.3l running hot

I have a 5.3 (only mod is cold air intake by spectre)
It runs hot half way on gauge and it used to be at the 1/4 mark !
I ve changed thremostat ( many times) new waterpump , rad flush , engine flush , but to no avail. I recently read that it could be my head gaskets. Anyone have a simaliar experence?

You need to find out how hot it's running, the factory temp guage sucks. You need to check it with a scanner. Do you have electric fans or mechanical?

Hum... 285 is just a wee bit high..

Id do a coolant test and see if you have any carbon in there.. that would let ya know if your looking at a head/head gasket issue.
