Honestly Im not a big tuner of the stock ecu's other than WOT. Only thing I have really tuned on has been my truck and a ZL1 I built. All the KR and timing modifier tables are zeroed out on my truck.

Tonight I pulled off intake and found Knock sensors all corroded and full of moister. Cleaned everything out and swapped in another set of sensors and harness and it runs a TON better! Zero ping now, I will have to log it and see how much timing it's pulling and adjust tune from there. Ports and valves looked surprisingly clean.

Glad the knock sensors fixed it up. Might wanna check your fuel pressure too though. Mine started pinging after about 4-4500rpm a few years back. Turns out fuel pressure was dropping off cause the stock pump was getting weak.

Isn't the 06 os different from the 05 os like on the trucks were it goes into rep mode because the Throttle body, Tac module, and Pedal are different?
Offers still up if you want the factory tune for your Tahoe.

kind of funny you asked this, my wifes 05 Tahoe just starting pinging a lot at WOT. I don't drive it a lot and she doesn't know any better.
I think I will start with knock sensors aswell and go from there

On a truck that old I would have recommended pulling the valley cover and replacing valley cover gasket and knock sensor well seals. The well seals age, warp and then trap block moisture in the knock sensor well. A new harness with new plugs only stops water ingress from above, but won't solve the problem from below.
