not if u install it right. i have had this setup in my truck for a year now and had now issues. 04 zo6 cam, home ported heads, yellow springs, 7.425 pushrods, cai, borla muffler,zo6 maf and has run strong chirping 2nd gear and reving it to 6500 numerous times. its basically a stock part so there shouldnt be any problems if u install it right.

I'm not sure if the stock pushrods will be the right length as the LS6 cam has a smaller base circle. I have read of guys using the stockers with that cam with no problems though...

if you have stock heads you need to run 7.425 pushorods as the basecircle of the ls6 cam is smaller, although there are several guys who run the stock 7.4 rods without issues.

I run 7.425 pushrods..... remember the RIGHT way to select a pushrod is to buy a pushrod length checker and measure for your exact needed pushrod length!!!!! You can buy them for around $20.

Default 5.3l 7.4 push rods ? Not in my 5.3's neighborhood

Hello fellow motor pushrod heads , my pushrod is longer than you're pushrod ! he he , I could'nt resist . Ok down to business . I just purchased a LS6 cam I believe from a 2004 vette . supposedly has .525 in/ex lift . So I decided to wait until cam gets here before fig/deciding and obtaining pushrods for it . So while waiting I grabbed 1 of the 5.3 pushrods and measure it . It's 7.325" . So I'm thinking 7.4 or 7.425" push rods is a big difference . So when You use the terminology "stock length" push rod please make sure You specify what engine that "stock length" push rod is 4 . I was kinda hoping 2 get an answer also 4 what length p rod I would need 4 my swap , but reading a couple of these posts , I've realised/decided to wait and figure it out 4 myself, the safest way I know. So , 1 more bit of info hopefully some of You can take advantage of is "Fred Beans parts" has LS6 yellow springs new 4 $59.00 complete set plus shipping .
Good luck all .
