Does any company make rods, and piston kits for the 5.3... Do any of these companies offer a stroker kit for the 5.3

Crank and rods will interchange with the LS1. Finding pistons will be difficult.

Big Tex the crank will not interchange with the ls1. Did research at my local GM dealer and a couple of after market suppliers. Eagle makes the rods, and the pistons have to be made special through JE at a cost of 800.00

The 5.3 and the 5.7 have the same crank, why would they not interchange? The shops I have talked with say that anyway.

I am not 100% sure but I think the balancing is the only difference between all the cranks except 4.8's.

Also some of the 6.0 cranks 99 mostly were made just a little bit longer (about 3/8's) to bolt to the 4L80E transmission. 2000 GM used a shorter crank with a spacer.

I've heard that the 5.3L cylinder bores can be bored quite a bit but, they are small to begin with.....I think.

You should be able to get it to 6.0L with just changing to the LS1 crank and boring it.

5.3 and 4.8's use the same block which can be bored only 0.030. That with a 3.622 stroke which is the same as a 5.7 LS1 would make a 330ci. 6.0 364.

I'm just going from what I've seen. Here is a thread where a guy has a 5.3L block bored .125+ over. It was done by ARE.

Hyde you may want to talk to MTI, ARE, or one of the other competent engine shops to see what they say about the bore.
