Default 5.3 ?'s

I have a 1993 C-1500 with a 4.3. i want to put a 5.3 out of a truck in it. I was wondering if any one knows what i will have to do to my cross memeber or oil pan to make it fit.

I was also wondering what was the max psi that engine can handle with stock internals. I want to run a custom twin turbo set up.

I have heard that LS-1's and 5.3's are almost identical. is that true. if so what all will match up.

Thanks

Why not go get a 6.0 since you are already doing a swap.

Well. It is easier for me to get a 5.3 for less, and i really dont know how much room i will have to run the turbo set up. i will post a diagram of my set up as soon as possible.

That is a good idea though. I will look into it. I hadnt really given a 6.0 that much thought.

thanks

a 6.0 has the same dimensions as the 5.3 I believe. Just go for the 6.0 and you should enjoy it alot more. plus you will have the extra cubes which is always good.

Yeah the 6.0 has the same dimension as the 4.8/5.3. Even if you get the 6.0 for $1,000 more, it is still very well worth the extra hp and torque.

A 6.0 wont be that much more it is just harder for me to get ahold of. i have access to wrecked vehicles, so a complete system will only cost me about 2g's, tranny and all. maybe i will go with that.

Any tips on the turbo or the actual swap?

thanks

I doubt that would be good for anything other then a <2.5L

It's not about how much PSI you can make, it's about how much CFM you can move. And I think that puny turbo is best served for 4cyl and motorcycles

i'd get and LS1 or an LS6 instead of a 6.0L cuz they weigh less.
