I understand that newer 5.3s have stronger rods and larger. I can't seem to remember what years the changes apply to. Anyone know? I have been searching all over.

They are supposed to be a little more beefy, but Mangled03gmc is right later 04-up should have them.

There a lot more beefy... Just compared my 04 lq4 to the 06 5.3 I just got.
