5.3 to RAW power
#1
From Chips to Mufflers. I have no clue about mechanics but I really wanna understand my truck a bit better. I have a 2002 SCSB (sportside) 5.3 I wanna know how to make this thing go and what ways to go about it... So far I have a Dynomax Ultra flo muffler and that's it... Or should a guy simply upgrade to a 6.0 LS1. ?

first easy way is to buy an LS6 cam and springs, a set of headers and some tr6 spark plugs and cut the cats off. next is a converter and a nitrous shot.
if you are interested in it i have an 01 LS6 cam you could buy. it will give you hella top end speed.

I'm new to this site as well, but I can already tell that this web site has a ton of info on all the parts you mention. Horsepower gains, weight reductions, traction it's all in here. At the top of the page hit search and just plug in whatever you want to learn about.
It might take a little time to find exactly what you are looking for, but it's here. I joined to find out what all were the little cheap tricks and weight reductions I could do to improve 1/4 mile times and I found a lot more than I expected!

I wouldnt just jump in a swap yet unless you got the time and moeny to do so. The 5.3 will run . I would upgrade the 5.3 and see how you like it first and if your not satisfied then swap. you can always throw your mods to a 6.0
