Default 5.3-LT1 swap?

Ok guys, I know that the LS1 makes a great swap in the chev trucks but I can get an LT1 out of a 96 Z28 for next to nothing. Are the 5.3 and the LT1 remotely swapable without spending a lot of coin?

put a cam in the 5.3 and it will hang with most lt1's.

I wish my 96impalaSS would've come with a 5.3L. The 5.3L is easier to mod, makes more higher end power, and weighs less.

My buddy is doing the opposite, lol. He's putting a 5.3 in his 96 TA. And then turboing it

Hell my 4.8 with the mods in my sig will run with a Z28, when I put the 4.10s in I'll prob get them by a car or two. Stick with 5.3, they are a great motor.

yeah my z28 which weighed ~3400 with me in it, intake, exaust and a few free mods only ran a 14.0 at 99 at best so id stick with the 5.3.

its too hard to make power out of them you can do a cam and heads if you can find them and make about 340-350 to the wheels and thats it

Some misinformation there, there are plenty of heads and cam lt1's making 400+. Even some 383 and 396 cube cars making mid 400's to low 500's but it's alotttt harder to do than the LS1 based stuff thats for sure. 350 rwhp being the max for a heads and cam lt1 though? LOL
