Well after tons of more though, I decided to say ef it and go ahead and do gears now. I intended on doing them from the very beginning but just later. But after thinking it over, doing the cam and stall with my heavy rim and tire setup and 3.42s would be ridiculous. I should have done gears in the very beginning especially since I tow a trailer once a week with 2 lawn mowers. I guess I feared the gas mileage decrease too much, but after researching more I wont even see that much off a change from 3.42s to 4.11s. An online gear calculator says there will only be a difference of 355 rpms at 70 mph. So tomorrow I'm ordering my 220/220 cam 112 lsa and 4.11 gear and pinion master install kit. I already have my 3000 circle d stall and amsoil trans and gear fluid sitting here waiting, along with a amsoil trans filter because i'll be doing a full trans service while doing the stall. I also am ordering a tru-cool max trans cooler. oh yeah and I have a chrome diff cover to go on after the gear swap
