Default 5.3 with a "little" problem

Hey all,

I was JUST under my Tahoe tightening down my collector flanges. I happened to look towards the front of the truck and noticed a rather large bolt laying on the top side of my plastic piece that connects to the main skid plate.

Turns out it's my crank pulley bolt!! I may have forgotten to torque it when I did my cam swap. The bolt looks brand new and never used like it flew off right after I did the swap and it's just been laying there.

Could a missing crank pulley bolt cause some issues such as random misfires, somewhat low on power, and possibly fuel economy issues? Yes, I know it COULD fly up through my hood and anything else like that. Any other issues?

How do I crank it down to specs if the engine turns over?

Well I didn't have a ton of time to dick with it. Ended up using some redneck ingenuity to jam the pulley from spinning without harming it. Hopefully it's on their well enough for me to get it to a shop fairly soon.

I'm assuming that bolt has been missing for 5k+ miles

As long as the damper didn't come off you should be fine. I am surprised the damper never moved.

I used an ARP bolt when I did my cam swap I just used my snap on 1/2 drive impact to tighten it up and it's been fine fo 26,000 miles. I know tourquing it to spec is best but I was alone and the engine was on a stand.
