Question 5.3 faster than 6.0

O.K. I got a 99 NBS ECSB z71 and my dad has a 02 6.0 SCLB his is all stock and my mods are in my sig. I want to be faster than him what do you suggest for not too much $$$

4.56 gear with a converter. 2500 series are much heavier, have alot more drivetrain drag, and aren't very well geared. shouldn't be difficult.

His truck comes out to be around 5600lb I think. My truck is 6400lb so his power to weight ratio is alot better. also it is not an HD series

Just curious, How much does he beat you by and Why does your truck wiegh so much.

My 03 ext cab short bed Z71 sle weighs 5100lbs(real life scale).

I'd say Fan/Cam/Converter.

Race RIGHT NOW. You might be very surprised. The gearing of the 4L80E and the extra weight of the 2500HD are big hindrances to acceleration potential.

I had a 2001 2500HD 2WD SCLB 6.0L and now I have an 2004 1500 ECSB 5.3L and I really think the 2004 truck is faster than my old truck.
