5.3 Engine build questions
Hey guys, I got my 2002 sierra where I want it in the looks department and am now upgrading under the hood.
I have a 5.3 with the small valve heads and was thinking about camming it. Looking at the tsp220 or tr220 cam (which is better) and longtubes from calspeed most likely. I don't want to do a stall because it is a farm truck primarily and I do tow heavy loads.
Would it be worth the money for the gains I could get with just a cam and headers? Is there another cam you guys would suggest instead? my truck is lifted on wide 32s and gets around 13mpg right now. Also, would efans be a worthwhile upgrade, does it free up more power?
Just looking for opinions on camming without a stall because I don't see many other trucks done up like I'm thinking

You dont want a cam like that for the stock stall and "heavy towing"
It will be worse than the combo you have now.
Some 4.10 gears and no bigger than 212-214 intake duration at .050 on the cam.
