got a 02 silverado z71 looking to put a cam in it. what would be a decent street cam for a truck what have you guys used that works well. may consoder heads later on. got to take my heads off anyway to fix broken bolts in head broke flush in. what heads would you guys recomend. for the cam i would like a better exhust tone and a little more power for towing but noithing crazy. what hp would the cam make. i have no prob putting in valve springs but if i could avoid it i would. i would realy not want to put a stall converter in it. already have edl shortty headers and specre cold air. an true dual exhust. thanks fo the help.

 

What rear end and trans do you have? Are you lifted, and what size wheels/tires are you running?

 

4l60 i think 373 and 3 inch rough contry lift. 285-75-r16 tires

 

on those 285 i would slap some 4.11's or 56's , if you want it for towin,g you might want to go with a small cam and theres no avoiding springs , i would say like a 212/218 low lift comp cam ! and on heads if you want cnc'd then i would say the 5.3 prc's and if your looking for a little better heads some 243's or 799's just make sure you mill them down to 61cc chambers kus there 64cc wich would drop your compression ratio!
