On my second swap, I started on a Friday morning and drove to get lunch on Saturday working completely by myself start to finish.

Build the drivetrain to handle the extra cubes and ponies, a few guys have gotten by by bolting a 6.0 to their 60E, but most end up with a busted 60E If you plan on bolting the 6.0 to your stock trans, start saving for a back up just in case. At the least do the mods to the trans that you can without getting too invasive such as a shift kit, servos, and a big cooler. After the trans I'd upgrade the rear diff to a detroit trutrac or eaton or auburn posi unit...as with the trans, guys have gotten by with the stocker (by driving like grandpa and having some luck), but the majority end up with broken parts. Hell, I smoked my 60E with my mildly modded 5.3, and shortly after swapping in an FLT Level7 my G80 took a dump...just can't wait to see what I break if I ever can afford to put my LQ9 together!

just did a 6.0 swap in my 03 for now just have tsp 233/239 cam valve springs and push rods 42# injectors and tune until i get money for Lt's a verter and a tru trac and a long list of other things but im low on the $ so who knows how long all the other mods will take but the truck runs damn good for the little thats done to it dont have any numbers on it yet but as soon as the other mods are done hopefully i can and the swap only took a day to have everything out and back in and started so its an easy swap that can be improved as you go unless you have the money to do everything at once

im with bud though.. dont forget about the expense of a trans when it grenades.. not if it grenades... WHEN IT GRENADES....

i had a shift kit in mine and it lasted about a year with the stock 6.0... i put the cam in and got a real tune.. and took the torque management out... and about a month later... BOOM (1-2 shift broke the output shaft) .. i was only putting down 364/374
