5.3 to 6.0 swap?
I've heard people saying that its an easy swap. Is it worth it? How much would all that cost? Could I still use the 4L60E tranny?

it is a very easy swap, just like the old small blocks where you would swap in a 350 in place of a 307 and yes the 4L60 bolts right up. my computer didn't have any problems but i did turn up the idle about 50rpm, not sure how you would do this without ls1edit or if it really even needed it.
if you only did the 6.0 swap you should be ok with eveything but once you start beefing it up more than there may be other issues.
with just a few bolt ons like headers and cat back and maybe an intake your injectors will probably be too small, prety sure you have 19lb injectors and they are only good for about 300hp. actualy that is the only issue i can think of, it seems to me since you may want to turn up the idle like i did and i am sure you will want more power soon enuff and will need to adjust the computer for bigger injectors some day that you would probably want to figure on ls1edit as part of the swap.
i paid $1500 for a 2002 6.0 longblock out of a denali shiped to my door, the prices may be going up now that the car guys a using them. "is it worth it?" thats up to you, there are probably easier ways to get 30hp, but as far as cost it is right in line with any other mod, the 2001 and newer 6.0 is alot better platform to build on than a 99 5.3.
