5.3/4l60 in a 69 c-10 hotcam and no stall will it work?
#1
Putting together a 69 c-10, bought a wrecked 99 for the motor/trans, found a smokin deal on a hotcam kit so I picked it up. Main question is, will the hotcam work without a stall, or has anyone ran one without one. I have had cammed cars without a stall, and they wanted to push, die, when trying to idle in gear unless you had 1 foot on the gas and 1 on the brake, but these were pretty big cammed old school carbed cars. I am not really concerned about getting it up into the powerband for max power, or draggin it, but I am concerned about occasionally pulling around a 69 camaro on a trailer. Tell me what you think, and thanks for the help.

from what I've researched it should be perfect. I recently picked a hotcam up as well and at first I had the same questions. If anything it's going to improve my power all around without a higher stall. If you do get a stall there's quite a few on here that haven't had any problems with the yank's while towing. I think that for daily driving and wanting some more power on the weekends the hotcam was a good choice. We'll see. I have surgery sooner than I thought so I won't get to install mine until after the new year

Thanks, will do, I started the cam swap last night, I still have to get the fuel part done on the truck, going to try to put a camaro tank under the bed, and do the wiring so it will be a couple weeks before she hits the road again.
