Default 4WD switch

sometimes my truck's 4 hi will work when i push the button. but most of the time it won't. auto 4 wd will work though. then it won't go back into 2hi. i have to hit 4hi and 2hi a bunch of times, then finally it will go back into 2hi. sometimes it has a mind of its own and automatically switched into 4lo. i have heard that these switches sometimes go bad. any other possibilities?

The buttons need to be recaled this is a very common problem Does the service 4WD message pop up? Well go to the dwealer and buy the buttons NEW they are about 40-50 dollars. You can try to take the buttons apart and spray them with electrical contact cleaner that helped mine.

My truck is 4 months old. I've been getting a "Service 4WD" message. When that message appears, the 4WD doesn't work. WTF?

Default 4wd switch

I had the same problem last week. I changed the switched and it works perfectly now. I had the service 4wd switch come on and go off for the past 3 months. The switches apparently go bad pretty often according to our GM guy.
