Default 4wd and cut out report

got some good and bad news.

first, i still can only brake stall to about 2psi, maybe3, the launch is prety good but not like spraying out of the hole, no gtech's yet but i will get some later after it gets dark. it just doesn't have that BAM launch but the gtech will tell more than the butometer.

now for the good news, it is prety hot today, 85deg, with 3 short runs and the cut out closed i saw a max of 51lb's of air, then i did one short blast with the cut out open and saw 60lb's of air and it did feel better. 60lb's of air on a 85deg day is making me prety happy. the IAT's were geting up to 110 or so and the timing is starting to come down too, 13-14deg or so but i think i will just leave it there for now. 16deg when cold and 13-14 when warm and even less when hot i am sure.

also my a/f ratio was around 10.8-11 with the cut out closed, i have been waiting to see where it goes with the cut out before leaning it out and i am glad i did, with it open i am seeing around 11.8 or so.

some gtech's will tell me alot, can't wait till it is dark out so i can go run some. dyno should be fun tomorrow too.

Sweet! I take it you got your pipe so you can use 4wd now????

You should take out some of that timing retard for the higher IAT's. Mine isn't pulling any timing until I get to about 160*. I have 0 KR too. If you want, I will email you my RADIX file. You can compare timing tables and such.

oh yeah, before when i was testing i was at 10.5psi, these test runs were at 9psi or so, i hit 60lb's of air at 9psi and i think i can up it to 10.5 safely but need to do more testing to find out what the real safe max boost is.

i divided all the number in that table in 1/2, i want to do a little more driving in the heat before i mess with it too much, 12 does seem low and i think more like 15+ and lower boost if i have to would be better.

WOW, 51lbs to 60lbs. That muffler must be a huge restriction. This reminds me of when you first started messing with your Whipple and were getting frustrated before uncorking the exhaust.

A downpipe is all the exhaust you should have on that turbo, take the rest of it off...hehehehe. It'll save some weight too.

Why is the A/F getting leaner with the cutout open? Is it because of the maf maxing?

no, it isn't maxed out, i did see a peak of 60lb's wich might be maxed but that was just one spot, most of the run is in the 55lb range. i think it just changes the way the motor breaths. every combo i have had a cut out on has shown about a 1 point leaning with the cut out open.
