Default 4L80E, cooler? Question

My 4l80e should be here Monday. While talking to Sean at Speed Engineering the other day, He told me to look into a Trans cooler for my truck. I was looking around the truck for a place to mount it when I realized mine already has a cooler on it, (Besides the radiator). Is this a Z71 option maybe? Or is the cooler on all trucks and I need a bigger one?

It's part of the "tow package". If you're going to run a non-stock converter, then it would be recomended to run a larger cooler. The B&M SuperCooler seems to be one of the favorites.

Talking

please put an aftermarket cooler on there. if you are going to go with a high stall then i wouldnt stop short of the 70264 i believe. that is the biggest they make and it kept mine cool.

Shawn at Synergy Motorsports just installed a new cooler on my truck. It was quite simple. H ejust removed the sotck unit and the new one lined up with the existing tubing for the most part and was bolted into place. Much better than the tiny stock unit.

Do you have a part number or make/model on that cooler?
