Default 4l60E Failure due to Shift Solenoid?

Ive decided to let someone local rebuild my transmission and the guy that is doing it said that it failed because the shift solenoid went out? Has anyone else had this problem. My SES light never came on but when he scanned my computer it said that the shift solenoid had failed.. Would this actually cause a transmission to burn up?

that happened to me a while back. Wierd thing is....the solenoid would only go out when I remote Started my truck. The installer tapped into some kinda wire that had something to do with the tranny solenoids.

well your problem is because you have to power on 2 ignition wires when you remote start it and most likely the installer only powered on 1 ignition wire
