408 report
#22
Wow! Same power on 8psi as the 4.8 on 20psi. That's cool. Looks like you'll really be able to push this turbo hard with the 408.
Just curious, what oil are you using in the new motor? Is Amsoil your sponsor now?

got some vid and gtech, i am working on geting that info up. i also got a neglegent driving ticket for going something like 100mph in a 45, cop could have taken me to jail so i got off prety lucky and it is a ticket where i can take a class to get out of it. $150 and 8 hours wasted but i really have been over due for something like that.
onto the questions. yes Dan Shea, an AMSOIL dealer, is seting me up with synthetic oil. from what i am finding out about it everyone says it always tests at the top of most tests. thanks Dan. right now i am running dino oil for another 250miles then switch over to AMSOIL.
this motor is louder and lumpy but not as lumpy as the 6.0 was. prety much what you would expect. i have the idle higher than it needs to be to help with the tuning, it is a little harder tuning with the big cam than the stock one.
i am going to do what the syclone/typhoon guys are doing and that is to run 4 drag radials, put suspension limiters on the front and caltracks on the rear. basicly try and keep the flatest contact patch i can.
now i am going to go get the gtech screen shot up and see if my buddy got any decent vid. he hid the camera when we got pulled over, didn't need the cop seeing that.

k, here is the gtech, i had the 4.8 dialed in perfect by this point. it was running about 20psi, race fuel, lots of timing, open cut out, 1/2tank less fuel.
and the 408 with not a perfect tune. a/f ratio was moving around a little, timing droped off a cliff on the launch(need to figure that one out), too much timing the rest of the run with about 2-3deg of KR for a good part of the run, pump gas, 8psi, closed exhaust, full tank of gas.

looks to me like in a few days i should be able to go out and kill the 4.8's best gtech running pump gas in the 408. the timing droped to 5deg at the launch for some reason, that can't help. open cut out is usualy good for .1+ and 2+mph so it does make them prety close right now.

bed time for me. up till 4am last night and for some reason i got up about 9 this morning. i am sleeping in tomorrow
