Not flaming, just curious where the extra $4-6k is here...could you let us know exactly what you were getting for $8-10k? I'm just curious as I'm looking into possibly getting a new engine and an HPE 408 is pretty high on the list right now.

Well, $4k for the short block, $1800-$2K for good heads, so you're at $6K already and you've got lots of stuff to go still....

4K - short block
2k - afr heads
1k - fast manifold
1k - custom cam, valvetrain
1k - long tubes, exhaust setup

It gets pricey. I'd have to agree with nakid.

FAST and AFR's wouldn't be required by any means. It would be nice to have, but definitely not required for the swap.
