Default 408 numbers

I'm working on a 408 build for my tired 4.8

tsp iron sb, -10cc diamonds
prc 2.5 cnc'd 5.3's.

using the stock 4.8 manifold, throttle body and maf for induction...
(anyway I can improve on this? w/o changing all the front drive's)

what are the torque specs on the oil pan? (as I understand, its a stressed component...)

and will all the sensors hook up in stock location, should I replace any of them? is there any special process for removing knock sensors?

want to make this is as drop in as I can... But never removed such a new engine out of a truck. sorry for all the questions!! and thanks!

everything off your 4.8 is a direct fit the manifolds and intake are going to kill the 408 though but you could get away with should be pretty strong.

thanks man..

so how much up top hp will I kill with a truck manifold?

any other options besides area 51 idler relocate and f-body and a fast92/92... how about vic jr. and sheetmetal upper plenum like I see on a bunch of vic jr.s + ls's (instead of the 4bbl setups)

thanks again.. tough getting the pros to speak up around here.

i'd say do the weiand street warriror intake and get and ls2 truck water pump and be done with it no idler relocate needs but the vic jr is what im thinkin bout doing as my next mod with a ms4 cam . i'd reasonably say around 50hp give or take with the 4.8 manifold 4.8 5.3 and 6.0 have same intake.

in between those choices would be the tbss/ssr intake. 90mm opening. one for sale on tech complete for $150 right now. you can also get them ported from ls2portworks.

if you ask me if your doing a 408 i would never put a truck intake on, weiand street warrior or vic junior is what i would do. do it right the first time so you wont regret it down the road.
