Default 402 heads choice 243s or l92s

Ok Im at a toss up, I have a set of stock 243 heads that I'm debating on using in the build. would that be a good choice of heads or go with a set of l92 with ls3 intake.. trying to make at least 5-550 through a 80e and 3200. Please suggestions greatly appreciated. .

I am guessing you are meaning 550rwhp? Going turbo, super, or Nitrous?

I would say if you are going to turbo any heads with a decent porting will be good but you will need to keep in mind you don't want to turbo a 10:1 motor so getting the NA RWHP you speak off is a different animal.

I made 450 with stock l92 heads on my 370.
Why don't you want 10:1 compression with a turbo?

some will argue that its to high of compression for boosted apps. lots of people like compression to be under 10:1.

i think these motors can handle it though, from what ive seen.

for a 402, the l92 heads over a stock 243 IMO. make sure to run a cam geared towards the l92 heads.

agreed i read and read and the highest i have seen is like 10:5 for boosted and still run considerable amount of boost and still be safe.
