i figure that much but that would be nice to have the awesome traction you 4 x 4 guys have but all the time because isn't it bad to have your 4 x 4 on all the time i thought it would be nice to have that nice traction all the time

I agree with the traction thought. That is one reason I really like the new SS. Of course it would have to have a power adder to compete with the lightning, but I still like the AWD idea. If the SS came out as a single cab with AWD, it would be great.

ok i will do this for a major race truck and maybe keep my truck and have it more driveable but if we can figure out what it will take i could buy a used z71 and change it out i probaly can find one that is cheap and then throw some nitrous on it

T least a different transfer case and PCM/BCM. Not sure what it would take for the tuning.

What you need is a single cab 4.8L Z71 with autotrac. Then swap the out the NV246 for the AWD version. You may be able to find one off a wrecked escalade, denali, or C3. Once its installed, get the PCM flashed with the tuning of a 01 C3, then buy LS1 edit to tune up the rest. You can probably stick with a built 4L60.

Maybe you don't need autotrac, but without it, you will have the manual shift lever in the floor. Your choice.

The C3 will have an open spot to the left of the steering wheel and no floor cables. I'll look at some diagrams this evening and see if I can tell if the AWD transfer case has different pin outs / connectors.
