4 link suspension + 15" rims out back
I remember seeing a picture of an airbag 4 link setup a while back but, can't seem to find it.
Does anyone have a link to the kit?
Could I just weld up some brackets to use coilovers instead of the airbags?
Would I need to do anything else to get rid of the leaf springs? They are taking up some valuable tire space out back.
This setup would allow the rear height of the truck to be adjusted at will by adjusting the coilovers also wouldn't it?
One more question.
I want to put a custom 15" rim on the back. The brake clearance looks very tight though. Has anyone ever done this? There are far more choices for big tires in 15" sizes than 16".

Don't even know what a 4 link is, but I have heard you can grind the calipers to fit 15's on. Some performance company ought to see our dilemma and make a low profile rear brake caliper that is just as strong as the stock one. How is your project truck coming along?

Awwww....nevermind. I just saw the airlift setup and it looks like it doesn't free up any space for bigger tires.
Eventually I would like to go with this type of setup but, it will require alot of other stuff which means more $$$.

Re: 4 link suspension + 15" rims out back
In Sport Truck a few months back, they had a 4link setup, but it didn't use bags. It used coilovers. It listed it as a custom place out west that did the setup. I've been lookin into using the same setup for a "silverado ss" project i've had in mind since 2000. But unlike you, i'm going larger tires. 18x10s @ least. (which their truck also used) The setup was on GMCs "Hot Truck" a reg cab/stepside-short bed w/ the 4.8 and an auto. If you want, i'll rummage thru my stacks of STs and see if i can find the shop...
Oh, i also remember in another issue they dropped a Silv usin an airbag 4link setup by i want to say DJM but i'm not 100%. Check back in here, i'll try to find the articles

Ling_650vette - I'd appreciate it if you could look up that 4 link info.
Hey fellas, has anyone ever heard of moving the springs inboard of the frame rails. My brother-in-law was talking like it was a common thing to do but, I've never heard of it. They are the main problem with fitting a nice wide street tire on the back.
