Default 4.8L RC or 5.3L EC?

I was wondering would a 5.3L be better than a 4.8L even though it's in a slightly heaver truck? Does the 5.3L have more HP potential? Thanks in advance.

The 5.3 would be a better investment than the 4.8. It would be able to handle more HP and just all out run better

If you are asking who would win stock, a 5.3 ext cab would beat a 4.8 single cab everything else being the same.

You might have gotten a freak 4.8 like Hyper's.... but those are not typical resultrs. It also it depends on what year. I see you have an 04. Where these 03+ 5.3 ecsb you were killing? What about gears? Where they any different?
