I hate to do this but I guess I will

The girlfriends WS6 is making over 400 rwhp with a little 216/224-525/532 cam and the usual boltons.

So that blows the big cam thought all to hell.

Well, I hate to do this but I guess I will. Yeah, with more cubes, lighter vehicle(also sitting on the drums of a dyno), better intake(engine components) and if it's a stick shift........less consumed power there also. Why are you comparing a car to a truck anyways. Go to a car site and do some car comparing with your girlfriends car. Also, put a 1000lbs(1/2 of a ton or the weight difference between a car and a truck) in the back seat in that car and then put it on the dyno and see what the car puts down. Bluecajun is running some very impressive numbers with his little 220 cam, but it he puts an LS6 intake on, more duration cam, after market heads(milled), higher stall and throw some gear in it, he will dominate his old time in the 1/4(just my opinion). So, explain to me again how the big cam theroy is blown all to hell........I see you have to hose your truck to make it run. I was trying to shed some light on the subject of how much a 4.8 or a 5.3 could make @ the crank if you went all out for dragracing and you had to do alittle hating on this thread. I also asked a good question myself to see what some people on here thought about the 5.3 and certain mods to achieve 400+hp. He asked about a 4.8 making 475-400 and I was wanting to know about the 5.3 making 400+. Anyways have a nice day....you can respond to this post or someone can delete it, but this is all have to say on this suject!!! Oh, I don't know who was the original thread starter was but whoever you are, good luck on your build-up and most importantly, have fun doing so!!!!!!!

I guess James woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

I think you missed the point.

What I am trying to say is you don't need a hudge cam to make good power. It's the combination of everything that makes good power.

You are correct I do have Nitrous on my truck. but you would too if your sponsor sent it to at N/C. And I do post on some car fourms I also sponsor them as well as this one.

BTW adding 1000 pounds to a car on the Dyno will not do anything to the HP numbers.

Now you go and have a great day

That's no lie

I can't remember how many SBC I built with cams in the 440 to 490 range. And at the time I thought they were killer cams.

The first cam I had that was over 500 was for a big block and I thought it was hudge. now compaired to the one in my 541 it was a tooth pick.
