Default 4.8L to 5.7L conversion

I was just wandering if anyone out there knows if the accesories on the front of a truck would work on an Ls6 engine? I just bought some parts ( crank, rods, block) to build a Z06 engine for my truck. I was thinking that I could just switch all the parts over to it when I get the engine built. I figured that because they are all gen III engines the only difference was in the block material ( aluminum vs. cast Iron).

There is one bolt that won't go in on the A/C bracket, but it isn't needed since it has 4 more to hold it in place.

Other than that, it's a pretty simple switch so I hear.

I'd track down Scream, I think he's just tossed that 4.8 for an LS1.

The LS1 or the LQ4/9 6.0 motors are about equal powerwise...you're just looking for a slightly larger bore vs lighter weight.

But aside from that, the LS1 drops right in!

I pulled my 5.3 out for a 5.7 and all the accesories worked off my truck.

I agree, just getting ready to finish my 5.3 to 5.7 conversion plus stroker kit.
Make sure you use your truck intake and water pump. These are the only major differences in parts. The truck intake sets higher on the block and the water pump upper tube is located vertically due to this. It also affects the TB location.

Hey, does anyone know what we may need to do as far as computer tuning? There is a local LS1/6 Vette shop here, should I set a tuning appointment after the motor is installed?
