Question 4.8 Stroker

Has any one built a 4.8 stroker motor using a LS1 or a LQ4/LQ9 crank?
Can it be done and is it worth the trouble?
If so what was all involved in making it happen?
Do you have to have custom pistons made or will stock pistons work?
What about rods, are they the same length, journal size, can you use the LS1 or LQ4/LQ9 rods?

Any info on this at all would be great!!!

Does the 5.3 use the LS1 (5.7) crank?

Will the 6.0 crank fit in my block with no problems? Was there some deal about it being shorter or longer than the 4.8/5.3 crank (flexplate/flywheel spacer when swaping in a 6.0).

Dont feel bad about not knowin what the strokes are. No one knows everything.

Yeah, I am surprised more people dont do engine swaps with the 5.7 or 6L. Its not that xpensive if you do the work yourself. Plus, theres a lot more under the hood compared to f-bodies. Swappin the engine dont look like itd be too difficult.

There are different 6.0 cranks. An early one (99-00) and a later one (01-present). The later one will fit your 4.8 (and yield a 5.3)
