my buddy has a 04 gmc with a 4.8 what can he do to make this thing go in the 14,s

 

cam, tb stall, exhaust, tune, 4.10s id say would get him there depending on if its a reg cab or ext cab

 

its a rcsb it takes all that to go high 14 with a 4.8

 

you might be able to do it w/o a cam, i dunno, i havnt run 14s, im just going by wat ive been told

its not really all that much work, its like $1500 worth of **** if you get the right prices

 

id say my truck would probably run a 15.5 right now as it sits, thats wit a tune, catback, 3.73s and about 250lbs worht of weight reduction

 

I dont think its takes that much to break into the 13s but yet i havent put the parts on my truck so I can actually find out.

I think a cam and tune and some wheight reduction can get you damn close if it is a RCSB oh and had 3.73 or above gears.

Also beast mode the 04 i belive are a hair more powerful then the earlier body style (02 and older)

I plan on a street tune and a 212/218 comp cam,a buiilt tranny inc. 2800-3000 TC. I have an eaton (not G80) and 3.73 gears i do have some wheight reduction (no spare no back bumper) also intake and exhuast.

It may be wishfull thinking but I hope that gets me at least a 13.99

after i get all the stuffed installed and save a little more Im going to spray the Fkr at least 100 shot and i will for sure be in the 13s if not creeping on 12s

Again this may be wishful thinking but well see

 

With that cam and stall with traction you should be close to that 13.99 you're looking for if you can get traction. The 4.8 isn't a bad engine; it loves to rev with that short stroke.
