I put down 445rwhp 489rwtq (if I remember correctly) with a Radix 3.0 pulley, 216/224 .558 .558 114lsa cam, Pace setter LT's, Corsa cat back, meth inj and a larger intercooler heat exchanger. It had too much torque to utilize first gear well with 275/55-20's. It went a 12.58 @ 109mph in the 1/4 the one time I took it to the 1/4 mile.

The 4.8 is lacking in low end tq and the Radix solves that problem. I've never been in a 4.8 STS truck so I can't say anything about it.

+1 for the whistling turbo muffler thingy.

8ALTNG, PM a price and what all you're selling. Me like's 4.8's! It's fun to kick someone's *** with a smaller engine.

My numbers are not good because I am still undoing some of the mistakes I made. Best track run so far is 14.3@92ish. If I had it to do over again, and had the resources I would prob get an STS. But at the time the STS wasn't out yet, and the Radix, then brand new, was the hottest ticket. BTW, giving it more thought, I'm not sure a higher stall would be such a bad idea, even for 2WD. As TG said, the 4.8's big weakness is lousy low rpm torque, which translates into snail's pace 60 ft's. The radix helps some, but you really don't get good boost until about 2000 rpm, due to internal leakage. So, a higher stall would let you wind it up a bit to get a good 60 ft. That's with a blower, with an STS it may be different.

Go with the turbo muffler from sts. Keep th 4.8l until she blows chunks. The 4.8 does lack a little in the torque department, but that means your trans and rear will last longer.

Not trying to be a smart *** or anyhting but why do you want a 4.8? Is there a certain truck locally that you like? I had a 4.8 in my current truck untill a horid mail order tune put it to sleep then I went to a LS1 and now in the middle of a 408 build. They are obvioulsy good motors just wanted to know.

For an aplication as unusual as a 4.8L with a Procharger you're going to want a cam with more duration and lift than stock for sure, but not big on the duration side so that you don't lose much low end power. I'd probably recomend something similar to the GT2-3 for that application. I'd recomend either the 3000 Vigilante converter or a 3000 Yank. With that much stall you'd be able to come out on boost and get your 60' times to around 1.8 or so with any kind of a good tire.
