Default 4.8 block ?s

got a 4.8 block from work today for next to nothing, i plan on putting it in a s10, its a seasoned block so how much should i have my machine shop bore it out safely? normally with other things i go thirty over but that seems a bit too much for this, im scared to go to much because of how thin the cylinder walls are.

thats ls1 spec isnt it? and i dont plan to make it a all out race motor but i do plan to make it strong and drivealbe for the street, if i go thirty over on it, should i go ahead and go with a ls1 crank or see about having the one in it machined a bit? either though i dont want it to be an all out race motor i want it to be stronger than the average 5.3

The 4.8 shares the same block as a 5.3 and 6.0 IIRC. Just make it an iron block ls1 like Taco guy said.

Got it coach, I couldn't remember if the 6.0 was different or not. Thanks for clearing that up.
