save any money that you would spend on MODS and get a 6.0 or 6.2... a 6.0 probably will be alot cheaper...

add up all your mods (headers, CAI, Muffler, gear, converter) and i guarantee you youd be better off getting a 6.0 or hell even a 5.3...

nothing like more displacement....

but if you must no... i went through this... i did a 3000 stall converter, headers, 4.10 gears, tune, posi traction, and i managed a 14.8 at 92 with a ext cab 4.8L

swapped in a 6.0 and went 13.6
did a cam and 4l80e and went 13.2
she still got more in her.... but its sold.... my buddy bought it

the 4.8 blows donkey choad. Swap in a real engine and then start modding it.

and I went mid 14s with just a tune, intake, full exhaust and a little weight off in an 04 ext cab 4.8 with 3.42s. Stock stall, open diff, stock tranny. I say keep the 4.8, mod it until your ready for more, then do the swap and use the parts off the 4.8 on your 6.0L. An engine swap isnt for everyone and not the only answer when a guy post up wanting a little more out of his current engine.
