4.8 to 6.0
#21
Just do some shopping around. 6.0's are certainly out there in vast quantity lq4 & lq9 for reasonable prices. I picked up a brand new crate lq4 for $1200 from schram auto which is in Cali. I found them through ebay! So far my 6.0 project has cost me $3000 and that includes the motor, a cam package, lt headers and another nv3500 transmission from the local junk yard. Key phrase to putting a cheap motor together is "wait patiently and shop around"

I got my new LQ9 for $2k.
I got my transmission (4L65E, 7 miles on it from a denali wrecked on delivery) for $750
I paid $200 for a tune. I got HP tuners now though.
I spent a few hundred more on misc stuff like oil, ATF, u-joints, beer, pizza and stuff i broke on accident.
