What would be a good cam for a std cab 4.8 5spd truck? Hes wanting the truck to chop some and sound good but he also wants something that performs pretty good... the truck is gunna have 4.10s l/ts and cam. I was thinking maybe a 212/218 112lsa or a maybe a tr220 112lsa?

any help appreciated

I had a 212/218 114lsa in my 4.8 5 speed truck and I really liked it a lot. Perfect for daily driving and towing. If I had to do it all over again, Id do either that same cam, or a 216/220 or 220/220 on a 112 or 110 lsa and call it a day.

 

ok thats about in the range of cams i was thinking... it gunna be mostly stock truck so i doesnt need a huge cam

 

I say a 220/220 on 110.

 

my cam is on a 114lsa in my 4.8 and it chops really good! noticeable idle! love it alot!

aight its one of my buddies trucks we were just wondering what a good cam might be for it.... i may pull my tr220 out and put it in his truck and get something different for mine
