Default 4.8-5.7

Alright guys. I have a 4.8 block.5.3 crank and rods, and i am thinking of going to the machieneist for some creative boreing. I am also considering use of LS6 heads on this setup. I need any advice to complete this setup and produce the most horsepower. I am going to use an Thunder racing tr224 cam. Comp Lifters, comp roller rockers. Comp, valvesprings.

you will need pistons for a 5.7 if you want a 5.7. they are not the same as the 5.3. im doing the same thing, im using stock 5.7 pistons and rods. im also using the same cam but i got a set of stock 5.7 heads and im going to port and polish mine and have them shaved to 11.1 comp. you will need to bore the block 3.898 for the stock 5.7 piston. this is as big as you can go with that block

Pretty sure you can go to 3.905 on the 4.8/5.3 blocks.

Better be safe and sonic test it first though.

Someone here did a 383 with a 5.3 block so I dont see why a 346 would be a problem. You just need to get the pistons and rods from an LS1 or LS6. With the LS6 head, you would have a comp ratio of 10.5:1. sweeeeet
