4.8 to 5.7?

Is there really enough difference in power between a 4.8 and a 5.3 to justify all that work?

i have no idea the work or cost involved, if it was only going to cost about $500 to replace parts, I'd do it, but you guys are talking thousands. now when you say 6.0 swap are we talking the LQ9 or the one on the HDs? and wheres a good site to check these out?

honestly... your better off getting a project motor for cheap (ls1 350 or a 6.0) and just building it up little by little, sell your old motor, and than just do a swap...it'll take longer that way if your broke like me... but you'll def. learn a bunch of stuff in the process

You could put your 4.8 crank into a 6.0 block and get a damn near 1:1 bore to stroke ratio. And have a motor that would rev to 8 or 9K rpm with quality parts. The total cid would be about 5.3L. You would need new rods pistons and lots of machine work.

Or you could just do a 6.0L for less money and more power.
