I got a 6.0 and get better gas mileage than my 4.8

The cost of a 5.3 is probably that of headers, catback and a few bolt ons on the V6. You'll never come near 5.3 performance without boosting the V6.

The V6 sucks. It will continue to suck as long as you own it, even if you mod it. The only difference is it will be an expensive engine that sucks.

I vote buy a used rear mount turbo and fab the changes needed to make it work . I am biased
