I have a 2003 silverado with a 4.3. i hate the damn thing, i am gonna swap to a 6.0 soon but not sure of what else to do.
First, lq4 or lq9, i do some towing and a lot of off road. which one would be better for my application.
Next, Cam...who and what.
Third, Forced induction, again, who and what.
Fourth, Trans, built 60e, 65e, or 80e?
And last, Gears, i currently have 3.42s with a g80, what would be the best gear brand and best LSD?
Thanks for everyones help.

There isn't a huge difference in the LQ4 and the LQ9, LQ9 has higher compression and therefore a bit more hp, if you are thinking of adding a cam and forced induction then definitely don't waste any extra money on getting an LQ9.

I wasn't trying to discourage you in any way; I was just trying to say most of the parts are created equal and it boils down to personal preference. Good luck with your project. Your truck is going to be a ton more fun with a 6.0 than it is with a 4.3. I went from a 4.8 to a 6.2 and I can't believe the difference.

Like said, if you do plan on doing forced induction go with the lq4 do to lower comp. either way I don't think ou will be diss with either engine. Also the cam will have to be based on if your going to def run FI or keep it na, big lumpy cams usually don't like to work with a FI setup. Every thing else is preference. Do a search on 6.0 and you will come up with more info then you will care to read. Good luck.
