Yeah, I have thoughts. You ain't gonna get there without a harness. The 4.3 is a completely different motor sharing a lot with the old SBC but nothing with the LS1 based motors. You almost need a donor truck to get everything you'll be needing-fuel lines, etc.

If you are going throgh the trouble of doing the swap, just go the whole nine yards and go with the 6.0....

The 4.8 is a LS* motor. It is identical to the 5.3 5.7 6.0 motors. It is the same block as the 5.3 just a differant crank.

While that is true, he said 4.3 not 4.8.

In my opinion, that swap is waaaay more trouble than it's worth. Just trade your 4.3 truck for one with a 4.8/5.3. You can do the research if you want, but I'll bet by the time you price how much the swap would be including a new tranny/radiator/wiring harness/ecu, possibly drive shaft, etc, you could have covered the price difference for the truck trade. Plus if you trade you won't have all that time involved to get everything to mate.

In the mean time I am going to build up my motor and research some more into it, I really dont want to get rid of my truck but if i must than i must. Maybe I can keep my ext.cab and get a wrecked single cab to dump the motor in and put an escalade front end on.

The drivetrain is the same on the 4.3's, for what it's worth...

your accessories such as alternator, ac and all that wont swap over, the fuel system is TOTALLY different between a 4.3 and 5.3 so like it was said above you'll need a donor for all that, or just build one from aftermarket parts but that could get expensive. not a direct swap in any way, and much more trouble than it's worth.
