Oxidizr congrats on the new #'s they are great. Sorry for the off key in the other post. I still don't see why people shun on progress and the search for HP. I wouldn't have pushed my truck like i did if it was not for you. I saw your #'s and figured it was attainable so what the hell... I just chose a little differnt coarse. I think the stock short block can handle this power if, this power is made and used in moderation. I've sprayed this thing more in a month and half than most people would in a year. Thanks for the good #'s that got me started on mine. Lets see where we can take this...

Big Tex:

I actually got 4 pulls in but my primary concern was N2O and fuel tuning/injector monitoring (I was on the dyno over an hour not including set-up and strap down.) I did one baseline and netted 274 RWHP/310 RWTQ - HPP3 power tuning off and running 64 PSI WOT fuel pressure, a little too rrich for n/a. This seems to be right on par (291 RWHP/347 RWTQ - was my previous best with 93 octane tuning and running at 60 PSI @ WOT) as the combined loss of the HPP3 tuning and 4.10's definately eats a good 20 RWHP/25 RWTQ.

Brandon:

The locker doesn't bother me on the street, but is NOT the most streetable set-up. A good posi has a much more fluid transistion from slipping to "locking" and thus gives much better street manners. The locker on the otherhand is binary (on-off) and the lack of a transistion is not unpridictable but abrupt. If you're cruising more than racing get the posi...otherwise some loud music on a gentle bend on some wet conditions can quickly become a hazard as you can definatley make a bad situation worse with improper application of throttle. This statement is true for a driver unfamiliar with the oversteer condition created with a spool and especially a locker-essentially too much and too little throttle will switch the vehicle back and forth from open to spool erraticlly. Couple that with a vehicle which maintains only 30-35% of its weight in tha back and you can have a nerve racking experience.

Hyde:

Thanks...PM'ed you

Richard

Hyde,

Looks like you know what you are doing.....
That was a mighty impressive number you are posting. How is the motor holding up? I was wondering, what else have you blown up lately?...
You mentioned you race 4-wheelers and Bikes as well, any mis-haps? By the way, yes I signed on, I was bored. Clowneeooo!

It'll be harder to control tire spin with street tires since the engine will want to rev much quicker with the lower gear.

Hyde,
It was inevitable that you would sucumb to the Kung Foo fighting crack, but shouldn't it have been "I think I'm turning Japanese, I think I'm turning Japanese, I really think so...." or "Somtimes I dream that he is me, If I could be like Ryu, I wanna be, I wanna be like Ryu...." Cuz you are the smartest white guy I know..... Regardless, big John Hyde is truning the trifecta, yah the BIG 30 , this week, so everyone wish him a happy birthday!

It's hard to hook anything at Carlsbad. You should bring the truck over to Irwindale on Thursday nights. Good traction (usually), and lots of runs if you get there ~4-4:30.

I'm planning on putting 4.10s and a torsen posi in my little S10. I've got like 3 sets of drag tires sitting around in the garage, I'll probably try out the 28" ET streets when I get the gears/posi.
