Default 310 castrated horses

Why does it feel like my truck has no power, i raced a 4 dr 4x4 06 ram nightrunner yesterday from a 60mph roll, he got the jump but i slowly started reeling him back in which i was happy about,(yanked it from D to 3 before the punch so i got down an extra gear.)

but i was comin home from school today and goofin off, i stop at a light and when it turned green i floored it, there was no spin and it felt like the truck just bogged out, is something wrong or is the truck just that damn slow?

What gears you have in it. My 06 Z71 that my fiance is now driving has the 3.42's and it sucks. I've got a tune in it, but its just an 87 tune and still has most of the torque management left in it. I know its a turd down low, but you get it up in the powerband and it'll run like a scalded dog.

Some 4.10's and a good tune with most of the TQM taken out would help greatly IMO. Add and air intake and an exhaust and it should run pretty decent. Just depends on how far you want to go with it, and what your purposes are with the truck.

The bogging that you are feeling is most likely all torque management.

Nice truck but yeah, you need a good tune to get past the TM. My 05 had 3.42's too, one of the first mods I did was a gear swap.

I agree that TM probably accounts for a lot of the bogging, but in my opinion those 3" pipes and the FM 40 are costing you down low also.

The guy at the muffler shop said anthing past the cats wouldnt effect it to much, he said the slightly bigger pipes would only make it throatier.

trever i like your truck, i'm hopin to get to the 500hp mark by the summer, i'll try and get some pics of it up this weekend

a tune, 4.10's and a torque converter will make a world of difference.

Well, I wouldn't go with the Flowmaster exhaust myself, but I doubt at this point its really costing him much. The 3" exhaust might be a bit much for stock, but if you have plans to mod further with the truck, the 3" will give you a good base to start with.
