Default 3 inch to much?

Hey guys, I got a 02 silverado with 4.8. I was wondering if lpp longtubes with 3 inch ory pipe to a 3 inch borla pro xs with stock tail piping which is 2 3/4inch. Is that too much or will I just be making noise with no go?

If you keep it stock it might be too much. Add a cam and a better intake then maybe.

You'll probably be making noise with no go, regardless. Go ahead and do it bigger, then just deal with the marginal loss until you get more mods. That way you don't have to do it twice.

The difference in flow of a 3" to 2 7/8" isnt worth measuring.
Go for it!!

Last time i measured a stock tailpipe it was 2 7/8" not 2 3/4". Not that even 1/4" diff would matter if yours is that.

Think of it as trying to blow though a fire hose compared to a garden hose, if you have plans for further bigger plans, get the big stuff and sleep easy.
