Default 3 inch dauls

my buddy is a good fab guy. builds banshee frames for dragging and stuff and races them with snow mobile motors and stuff.. anyways

he said bring him the materials(90 degree mandrels and stuff) and for a good price he will weld up my exhuast. im doing daul 3 inch with a x pipe. i have lpp long tubes now, im gonna run v bands on the collectors. both pipes will go over the crossmember and meet behind the tailshaft into a x pipe. then off to the side.

were gonna try to keep it equal as can be from side to side. i want it to be loud and worse comes to worse i can cut off mufflers and weld new ones on and not ruin this work of art were gonna build.

so what mufflers you recommend? and any tips or ideas on running the pipes? i was thinking some dynomax bullets but idk. also i was thinking band clamps before the mufflers and i can on clmap them real quick and go out racing. saves money on cut outs and easy to do.

I am really interested to see what he comes back with. I will be running the same exhaust set up when i get a few more mods in my truck. There was someone who had a great exhaust exactly like what you are describing that they sold with a set of ARH in 2009, but I can't find the thread. It has pictures in it.

Mine is a daily driver though... so I don't want any drone or rasp. I want it to scream WOT, but have a powerful tone at idle and cruise.

The Dual 40 series flowmasters that I have on my setup are plenty loud, too loud for my DD, and I will be changing them soon... and with the cam at idle, you know there's somethin up.

This sounds exactly like my exhaust, LPP headers and all with V-bands. I used a magnaflow. I don't like it too loud.

I like the hooker aero chamber myself, they are not too loud until to WOT then they sound great!

I recently installed a single 3" I/O 18" long 5x8" case Magnaflow and I totally love it. The rest of the exhaust consists of StainlessWorks 1 3/4" LT's with 2 1/2" collectors, gutted cats, and a 3" tail pipe dumped after the axle. I have a thread floating around with a sound clip. Waiting to get my e-cutout back from DMH (which was inoperative out of the box ), and I will be updating the thread.

Can't really compare a single 3" to a dual with x-pipe, but you may be able to get an idea of the kind of sound and tone that the Magnaflow provides...personally I love it, much tighter and less redneck sounding than the previous big case Gibson that I had dumped before the axle

well right now i have a single 3 inch into a magnaflow. and before that i had a corsa.

my other idea is va band everything. extend my lpp y pipe back behind the trans like mangled did. then y it into a 3.5 inch cutout. then after cut out a reducer back to 3 inch to the pipe and magnaflow i have now.

but the borla's or spintechs are sounding good.
