Default 3'' Duals on 6.0

just wondering whats everyone's opinion would be with 3'' duals on my 6.0..i've already made some mufflers that will slide onto 3'' pipe..also when i had to pull my tranny i had cut alot of the pipe out, and i would have to redo it anyways..

It would probably be overkill. I did dual 2.5" with my LT's and I'm running 7-10 pounds of boost. I'd be worried about losing some bottom end power power. I'm sure it would sound good

i know its probably overkill, i like the mufflers i got now, sound really good at wot, but i cant hear the cam as well as i would like, my friend a made a bullet style muffler for his camaro and his 232 237 cam sounds nasty..so i made the same kind of mufflers for my truck...

I am running lt's and a true dual 3" and while it sounds good it is loud as hell. I am switching over to some bigger mufflers to try and quiet it down. But like 1slowhoe I am also boosted.

you have 364 cubic inches, most LS1s run dual 3" into a single 3" or into a single 4" and they make great power....i know im going dual 3" for the new setup

On my tbss i have long tubes with custom dual 3 inch pipes going to a single in/out magnaflow. im now changing to the dual 3 inch in/out magnaflow which has a internal x pipe and then dual 3 inch all the way to the back.

heres what it sounds like with the single entry/exit magnaflow

as for myself the pacesetter 3" ORY into a 3" single out is perfect. I'm running cats too. as of right now I took the muffler off b/c the super 40 was kinda quieter than I wanted and I daily drive the truck with the exhaust dumped under the cab with the lt's and ORY and cats. it isn't annoying unless I cruise at 2200rpms then I go deaf b/c of drone

I think dual 3" is overkill, but nothing wrong with overkill. Expecially if you already have the mufflers. I ran dual 3" through the cats, then 3x2.5" reducers and a 2.5x3.5" Y and 3.5" muffler. I was going to run dual 3" but decided to use one muffler to keep costs down on my daily driver. I think the most likely culprit for torque loss is running the X pipe too far back, ceramic cats, or very poor collectors on the headers. I don't know for sure because my exhaust is way oversized
