Default 3 chamber flowmaster, is it hurting me

when I bought my truck it already had the muffler on it I believe that it is a 3 chamber delta flow but it is about 20 inches long, it could even be one of those big block mufflers too. The man had a two chamber, said to loud so it could be a big block one. I know that flowmaster don't help these trucks but could this muffler be setting me back.

YES! I had a single 3" flopro muffler that I thought was not as good as flowmaster, so I switched to a big block muffler and lost ALOT of power, not to mention the .4 off my 1/8 mile. They really choke the engine at high rpms.

The exhaust on my truck now is the 6th one. If you want decient street performance go with any muffler that is striat through. Magnaflow, glasspacks, some dynomax. Personaly I gave up on mufflers, Just get cutouts for racing. They are somewhat loud, but when you get tired of the noise just cap'um.

I am thinking about running a set of the stainless works chambered mufflers and a X-pipe, their mufflers are a strait through one like the ones from the 69 ZL1 camero's hoping to feel a big difference.

[http://www.stainlessworks.net/Mufflers.htm[/url] then scroll down on the page for different styles little pricey but I believe its worth it and lifetime gurantee, same place that gmmg gets their for the f-bodies that sound so good and year one uses them for their restoration kits

p.s look at the one labeled chambered round muffler and summit started carring some too but not as many choices
